WHO AM I ? my BIO
- Parisian: born, raised and living in Paris
- Third generation Parisian (actually fourth, as my great-grandmother was Parisian too).
- I live in the 14th arrondissement of Paris
- Music lover, especially fond of the piano and live concerts. I tend to avoid “Best of” compilations.
- English language lover (although far from bilingual, I only studied it during secondary school)
- Often more interested in what’s on the sidelines rather than in the mainstream.
- Lifelong café lover (not to be confused with coffee shops) for their ambiance, spirit, history and story
- I have hundreds books about Paris at home
- Not a fan of following or being part of a group (except at concerts or festive events)
- I truly believe that the way you travel is a reflection of who you are.
- I am generally not someone who believes that “c’était mieux avant” ( = “it was better before”).
- I moved several times within Paris. I lived in the 14th, 15th and 17th arrondissements. I am now back in the 14th.
- I am not into selfies. I’d much rather be behind the lens.
- Photography has always been part of my life (mainly portraits, but also architecture, and now street photography).
- I graduated from Sorbonne University (in the 5th arrondissement, Latin Quarter) with a Master’s degree. Actually, I have two!
- I worked for several years successively in marketing, then as a teacher in the French National Education system.

- In general, I prefer the sidelines to the mainstream.
- I am quite picky about my language. I love its grammar, its spelling (including the ^ circonflexe accents!) and I’m reluctant to embrace trends that take away from the elegance of the French language.
- I am as picky about pastries as about my language !
- I currently live in the very building where I grew up and spent the first 17 years of my life.
- An art photo of Thelonious Monk is hanging on my wall, and one of Alex Kapranos (of Franz Ferdinand)
- I don’t enjoy touristic guided tours: one of the reasons I created “Anne Jeanne in Paris”: a different way to experience Paris!
