The tours (Each tour can be customized according to your preferences)
Montmartre off the beaten path
Montmartre area really looks like a village. And I often feel upset when I see visitors going to the Sacré Coeur without having experiencing the beautiful Montmartre area, its little cobblestones streets, its charming squares, all the details which makes it so special. And the Sacré Coeur, a church that one calls it “the beauty spot of Paris“. I’d like to show you the real Montmartre and stop in a café for a break. Why not in Amelie (the movie)’s café, or a café near the meeting place for artists such as Modigliani, Picasso, Dufy, Derain, Apollinaire… ? : “Montmartre, a village in Paris” Contact

Saint Germain des Prés neighborhood :
One of my favorite Paris area : for its style, its soul, its “chic”, for its cafes. It’s the historical and intellectual Paris area which reached its heyday in the 50s : one of Picasso, Hemingway, Miller, Sartre, Camus, de Beauvoir, Morrison, Sand... You’ll see the oldest Paris church, the oldest Paris’ cafe, the place where the guillotine was first tried, a beautiful cobblestone alleyway, iconic cafés , the favorite Hemingway’s brasserie, the favorite Jim Morrison’s cafe…etc, and where Jazz musicians such as Duck Ellington, Miles Davis used to come and play in the early 50s. “Saint Germain des Prés : a grand classic” Contact

Latin Quarter (northern part from Saint Michel and the river Seine to the Panthéon, including the most touristic part of it)

Shakespeare and Co rue de la Bucherie
From the Sorbonne to Shakespeare and Company. The Latin Quarter is located on the Left Bank and renowned for its narrow and winding streets, its old architecture, its students bookshops, its cinemas, its cafes, a wonderful church with the only rood-screen existing in Paris, an iconic spot seen in “Midnight in Paris”,…and Shakespeare and Company bookstore of course, (and its great brand new cafe) ! A really charming neighborhood. “The Latin Quarter, the student’s headquarter” Contact

A day with Hemingway
Wether you a fan of Hemingway or not, this walk will take you back in time, in the Paris of the 1920s, when so many writers and artists coming from all over the world moved to Paris. Though Paris has changed a lot within the last century, many of the places where Hemingway and all the artists and writers lived and gathered, still exist. This walk is also a good excuse to explore Paris off the beaten path. We ‘ll walk through the 3 main neighborhoods that Hemingway frequented : Then Latin Quarter (but not the most touristic part of it), Saint Germain des Prés and Montparnasse and will take a break in 2 of Hemingway’s favorite cafes. “A day with Hemingway” Contact

From the Marais to Notre Dame (via Saint Louis Island) :
A serene walk through a less known and very charming part of Le Marais neighborhood. We’ll start our walk at the Place des Vosges, one of the most beautiful square in Paris, then we’ll walk through a less known Marais, through old courtyards, we will see one of the last medieval buildings, once the home of the Reine Margot (wife of Henri IV), we’ll see some remains of the old 12th century defensive wall of Paris, then we’ll stroll the elegant Saint Louis island and its 17th century buildings, not to mention… and taste … (!) the so famous Berthillon ice-creams. Before ending our visit in front of Notre Dame Cathedral, we’ll make a little detour to the iconic Bouquinistes along the Seine, and why not to the reknown Shakespeare and Company which is nearby (if you haven’t visited this bookshop yet !) – Contact
Options :
– Before the tour : If you book this tour on a Thursday or on a Sunday, you can add a visit of the Bastille market, one of the largest open air market in Paris (with or without me !)
– After our tour, you could visit the Sainte Chapelle, a Medieval gem located about 300 meters from Notre Dame

Saint Germain des Prés // South East of the Latin Quarter : The most amazing and wonderful tours. Ann Jeanne is an amazing tour guide and extremely insightful. The 2 wonderful mornings we had Ann Jeanne as our guide was very personal. […] One of the many things Ann does in Paris – is to take people like Neil and me on private walking tours of special places in Paris. It’s a very personal and exclusive way to see the places that interest you, and discover the back story from Ann. Paris is full of history and knowing what came before is a very good way of understanding why things are – as they are. Find out more about Ann’s tours on “Ann Jeanne in Paris Private Tours.” […]
