Montmartre area off the beaten path
Montmartre area really looks like a village. And I often feel upset when I see visitors going to the Sacré Coeur without having experiencing the beautiful Montmartre area, its little cobblestones streets, its charming squares, all the details which makes it so special. And the Sacré Coeur, a church that one calls it “the beauty spot of Paris“. I’d like to show you the real Montmartre and stop in a café for a break. Why not in Amelie (the movie)’s café, or a café near the meeting place for artists such as Modigliani, Picasso, Dufy, Derain, Apollinaire… ? : “Montmartre, a village in Paris”
The other Latin Quarter (South-east part)
If you like wandering off the beaten track and explore a very quaint neighborhood, you’ll probably enjoy this neighborhood that has a great history and has a very special place in my heart. See the Latin Quarter visitors in Paris often miss.
On our way : paths dating back to Roman time (paths from about 2000 years ago), old painted signs reminder of past times, 17th century building facades, remain of Lutetia, the “Gallo-Roman Paris”, an amazing open air market street whose origin is probably 1350 AD, possibly earlier, some of Hemingway’s favorite haunts… and so on. More photos and details “The other Latin Quarter”

During the whole day tour : you’ll see the Galeries Lafayette dome and many more 19th century gems. “An atmospheric 19th century tour“
Saint Germain des Prés neighborhood :
One of my favorite Paris area : for its style, its soul, its “chic”, for its cafes. It’s the historical and intellectual Paris area which reached its heyday in the 50s : one of Picasso, Hemingway, Miller, Sartre, Camus, de Beauvoir, Morrison, Sand... You’ll see the oldest Paris church, the oldest Paris’ cafe, the place where the guillotine was first tried, a beautiful cobblestone alleyway, iconic cafés , the favorite Hemingway’s brasserie, the favorite Jim Morrison’s cafe…etc, and where Jazz musicians such as Duck Ellington, Miles Davis used to come and play in the early 50s. “Saint Germain des Prés : a grand classic”
Latin Quarter (northern part from Saint Michel and the river Seine to the Panthéon, including the most touristic part of it)
From the Sorbonne to Shakespeare and Company. The Latin Quarter is located on the Left Bank and renowned for its narrow and winding streets, its old architecture, its students bookshops, its cinemas, its cafes, a wonderful church with the only rood-screen existing in Paris, an iconic spot seen in “Midnight in Paris”,…and Shakespeare and Company bookstore of course, (and its great brand new cafe) ! A really charming neighborhood. “The Latin Quarter, the student’s headquarter”
A soft discovering of Le Louvre :
You’re staying in Paris for a short stay and you don’t want to miss Le Louvre. But Le Louvre is a huge museum, often crowded, With miles and miles of corridors (more than 9 miles) and numerous rooms and artworks.
Spend a few hours in Le Louvre and around and enjoy its highlights with no stress, no waiting line, without getting lost. I accompany you (only you) , give you all my attention and walk at your pace. Le Louvre is a wonderful building, once a fortress, then a royal residence and now a museum, with an impressive art collection. You will see : the Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa (la Gioconda), the Winged Victory, The Coronation of Napoleon, The Wedding Feast at Cana, The Great Sphinx of Tanis “A soft discovering of Le Louvre” with Ann Jeanne in Paris

Montparnasse and the Roaring 20s
The area was the heart and intellectual artistic life between WWI and WWII. where Foujita, Chagall, Hemingway, Modigliani, Picasso… have been living. Nowadays, a wonderful mix of old and new. An area with iconic cafés and restaurants with the feel of a neighborhood, one of the most renowned Paris cemetery, the Montparnasse Tower with its 360° bird-eye view, its beautiful outdoor market… “Montparnasse, the roaring 20s“

Some testimonials :
Atmospheric 19th century tour : If you are going to Paris, especially for the first, second or third time, you must let Ann Jeanne take you on one of her tours! It was our first time in Paris, and we visited the Grande Boulevards. We also saw quaint churches, parks, restaurants and the best chocolate shop! She knows her way around, so it takes the guesswork out of the day. We also got seated at a nice little café for drinks due to her negotiating skills! My broken French wouldn’t have received so great a result! It was so much fun, and when I go back, I will go on another tour with her. I strongly recommend anyone going to Paris to take a tour! Her prices cannot be beat as well ! Merci, Ann Jeanne! Deborah – USA – June 2017

Latin Quarter and Montmartre : A week in Paris during Spring Break was so very short, with so much to see, to taste. But with Ann Jeanne on your side it would be a lot easier! The 2 wonderful mornings we had Ann Jeanne as our guide was very personal. She was very considerate and catered to our special request, modifying her usual route and made special arrangement in advance for us to visit the Currie Museum – it was opened only for us that morning and we got up and personal experience in The Currie Lab and Office! Ann Jeanne gave us lots of insider tips about Paris, and showed us this beautiful Church next to the Pantheon that we would have never known otherwise. We can’t thank her enough for all she’s done to make our trip a very special one. Indeed a friend you will need in Paris. Alice – USA – April 2017
